Las Iguanas founder to launch Caribbean restaurant concept
Ajith Jaya-Wickrema and his backers have acquired a former Dim T site in Milton Keynes in an off-market deal.
The move marks the re-entry to the sector for Jaya-Wickrema, who together with Eren Ali, launched Las Iguanas in Bristol in 1991.
He stood down from that business in August 2009.
Since then BigHospitality understands he has been working on the development for Turtle Bay – a project he hopes to rollout.
He employed the services of Restaurant Property, the London-based agency, to look for sites between 3,000 and 4,000 sq. ft. in the Midlands and the south of the country. Selsian acted on behalf of the leaseholder.
The concept will open later this year at the site in Mortimer Square, the Hub.
