Simon Rogan at Home named UK's best value Michelin starred takeaway meal
In a survey of 26 Michelin-starred restaurants’ food delivery service conducted by kitchen manufacturer Kutchenhaus, the service, which is part of Rogan’s two-star restaurant L’Enclume, was ranked top, ahead of offers from Heston Blumenthal’s The Hind’s Head in Bray in second place; Restaurant James Sommerin in Penarth in third; Kitchen W8 in London in fourth and Bohemia in Jersey in fifth.
To create the ranking Kutchenhaus says it investigated the menus and delivery options for Michelin restaurants across the country that have launched a takeaway option for customers during lockdown, with each restaurant been ranked based on value for money, dining experience and customer reviews.
Simon Rogan at Home at offers at three-course meal for two for £60 L’Enclume while The Hind’s Head offers a five-course at £45 per person.
The research shows that prices for meals range from £19 to £95 and options including live cook a-longs, plating tutorials and meals that simply required being heated up in the oven. Simon Hulstone’s The Elephant in Torquay offers the lowest price for a two-course meal, at £19 per head, and came seventh in the overall rankings.
“Lockdown has provided many with extra time to be spending in their kitchens with lots of us trying out new recipes and skills,” says Jake Colwill, sales and operations manager at Kutchenhaus.

Other restaurants to appear on the list include The Angel at Hetton in Skipton (6); The Black Swan at Oldstead (8); The Man Behind the Curtain in Leeds (12); Simpsons in Birmingham (16); Ox in Belfast (21) and The Harwood Arms in London (25).
