Syrian chef and restaurateur Imad Alarnab is to relocate his eponymous Kingly Court restaurant to a larger site within the Soho development.

Imad’s Syrian Kitchen will relaunch in its new site, a few doors down from its original location on the top floor of Kingly Court in London’s Carnaby, next month, adding another 30 or so covers to the restaurant floor.

There will also be a new menu that will see the introduction of the restaurant’s first breakfast offering, which will include traditional Syrian dishes of crudités, grilled halloumi, dates and fruits served alongside tea made from Damascus flowers.

Alarnab launched Imad’s Syrian Kitchen in the spring of 2021.

He previously ran two successful restaurants, a café, and a chain of juice bars in Damascus, but his businesses were destroyed during the Syrian Civil War. In July 2015, he fled his homeland and made his way through Europe, eventually arriving in London in October that year.

Imad’s Syrian Kitchen originally occupied the site that previously housed the first iteration of Asma Khan’s Darjeeling Express.

Like Alarnab, Khan outgrew the site and relocated her restaurant to Covent Garden before eventually relaunching it in a new space within Kingly Court earlier this year.

The new Imad’s Syrian Kitchen will stay true to Alarnab’s ethos by continuing to support charities through events, supper clubs and special dinners.

As before, £1 from every bill will also be donated to refugee charity Choose Love.
