New York-style pizzeria Alley Cats has confirmed it will open a second restaurant this summer.

As first revealed by Restaurant back in January, the brand will open in Chelsea on King’s Road at the beginning of August.

The new restaurant will build on the success of the original Alley Cats, which opened in Marylebone in December 2023.

As with the Marylebone site, the Chelsea restaurant will celebrate New York’s pizza scene using ingredients from southern Italy. Head Chef Francesco Macri has developed a range of 14-inch, thin and crispy style pizzas that combine recipes passed down from his grandmother and techniques honed throughout his career working in restaurants in both Rome and London.

Menu highlights will include starters of meatballs of beef and pork in slow cooked tomato sauce with ages parmesan and basil; and candied bacon, and pizza options such as vodka sauce with aged mozzarella and buffalo mozzarella; smoked pepperoni, jalapeno and honey; and the white based wild mushroom, with taleggio cheese, aged mozzarella, red onion jam and fried sage.

This restaurant is owned and operated by ATFC, which is also behind Angus Steakhouse, Muriel’s Kitchen and the National Gallery’s Ochre restaurant. It will be part of the Sloane Stanely estate on the King’s Road.

“Alley Cats will be a fantastic addition to the Sloane Stanley Estate, and highlights our commitment to bringing more F&B choices to the area,” says Hannah Grievson, property director at Sloane Stanley.

“We consistently champion the very best of independent brands, both restaurants and retailers, as a destination that nurtures brand growth. We look forward to welcoming Alley Cats as an exciting new member to the heart of Chelsea.”

Shelley Sandzer acted on behalf of Sloane Stanley in the deal.
