Taylor Swift concerts lead to a surge in Deliveroo orders

Deliveroo has reported a surge in orders in the hours following Taylor Swift’s recent UK concerts.

The company analysed order data from the nights of the Taylor Swift concerts in Edinburgh (7, 8 and 9 June) and Liverpool (13, 14 and 15 June) and found that  orders in these cities, on average, were up over 50% in the three hours immediately following the concert versus comparable evenings over previous weeks.

In both cities orders began picking up at around 22:45 as fans began to leave the concert, before peaking at around midnight once fans were at home, and running through to as late as 01:45 the next morning.

Popular post concert orders include burgers, pasta, kebabs,  Thai food and tacos from both national chains and local favourites.

"Our data reveals a surge in Deliveroo orders immediately after Taylor Swift’s recent performances in the UK as fans opt for a post concert feast," says Rob Harris, VP of global restaurants at Deliveroo.

"These are numbers we expect from peak lunchtime but instead we are seeing these volumes at midnight. With more concerts planned for the UK and Ireland in the weeks ahead Deliveroo is prepared for an increase in orders and fans can keep celebrating after the final encore.”

The company says it is preparing for the future tour dates in London and Dublin by letting restaurants who are seeing the biggest order volumes know that there may be a spike in orders, and making sure there are enough riders available to deliver.
