StreetSmart puts out the call for new restaurant partners ahead of 2024 campaign
Some 500 restaurants across the country have already signed up to take part in this year's campaign, which kicks off on 1 November and gives diners the option to add a voluntary £1 per table donation to their bills during November and December.
New additions to the evergrowing roster include the recently relaunched Julie’s in London’s Holland Park; and Andy Oliver and Mark Dobbie’s Kolae close to Borough Market.
Outside of the capital, Simon Martin’s Manchester restaurant Mana and Upstairs by Tom Shepherd in Lichfield have also joined the lineup.
It comes after StreetSmart raised a recording breaking £1,059,000 last year; the biggest fundraising figure in the charity’s history.
All money raised through the scheme contributes to 'achieving impactful social change by supporting people rough sleeping and those in unsuitable accommodation'.
StreetSmart has now raised more than £13m since its foundation in 1998 and 100% of what is raised goes to help those in need as the campaign costs are covered by StreetSmart’s partner LandAid, the property industry charity working to end youth homelessness in the UK.
More than 50 UK homelessness charities now benefit each year from the campaign, with funds supporting services in housing, mental health advice, training and job support as well as organisations providing a safe place to sleep for the night.
