Boojum targets Birmingham for third mainland restaurant
Following the opening of its Leeds and Nottingham sites, the brand will open a restaurant in Birmingham later this autumn.
Located on New Street, in the former site of Second Cup Coffee, the new restaurant will have space for 54 covers and will serve Boojum's range of burritos, bowls, nachos, tacos, chips and salsas.
When it opens, it will be the brand’s third UK mainland restaurant in six months and is part of Boojum's plans to open 25 new restaurants over the next five years, primarily in university towns and cities.
“Boojum Birmingham represents further investment in our rapid UK expansion plans, we have chosen a prime city centre location close to Birmingham Town Hall and the design and fit out to transform it into a bright and vibrant Boojum restaurant will commence shortly," says Boojum head of operations Rob Powell.
Established in 2007 in Belfast, Boojum has 18 sites across the UK and Ireland. It was acquired by Azzurri Group in June last year and made its England debut early this year with an opening in Leeds.
"We are delighted to see our expansion plans continue apace with the launch of Birmingham," says Boojum CEO David Maxwell.
"It’s the ideal demographic for us with its eclectic culture, popular retail destinations and of course its fantastic food. We can’t wait to bring our fresh, bold Mexican flavours to the city.”
