Interstate Hotels and Resorts Europe has signed 13 new management contracts for hotels in the UK, bringing its total number of UK-based operational and signed pipeline hotels to 74.

The European arm of the US based hotel management company, which already operates a large number of hotels under InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) Holiday Inn brand, will continue to work with them, as well as Accor and Hilton Worldwide.

New signings include the new-build hotels Doubletree by Hilton in Kingston-upon-Thames, the Hampton by Hilton in Dundee and Hotel Indigo in Durham.

Other hotels will open under IHG's Holiday Inn Express brand, Accor's Ibis Styles and MGallery brands in London, Birmingham, Manchester Leeds, Brighton, Edinburgh and Durham with the new signings adding an extra 2,000 bedrooms to Interstate Europe's business.

Robert Crook, Interstate's managing director for the UK, said: “This is a very exciting time for Interstate Hotels & Resorts Europe, as the UK continues to be a strong growth area for the company.

“This success is a clear testimony to our truly independent status and the fact we put our owners’ needs, requirements and achievements first, committing whole-heartedly to the running of each individual business and creating tailored management solutions to improve owners’ profitability.

“It is also clear that the momentum in the UK market is gearing towards third party management as the preferred vehicle for managing branded hotels and we expect to capitalise on this over the coming months with more exciting announcements in the pipeline.”
