MasterChef semi-finalist Nisha Parmar consults on Masala and Coal menu
Masala and Coal, which opened its first site in Slough pub The Three Tuns in 2017, is described as offering diners ‘a unique concept of Indian barbeque fusion food in a modern setting’.
Parmar has created a number of dishes for the menu, including nacho popadoms topped with mango chutney, pomegranate and jalapeño; and masala holi popcorn.
Parmar’s involvement is expected to continue after the restaurant launches, with an eye to further evolving the menu.
“Masala & Coal is all about blending modern food with Indian tradition and that is something I have always been passionate about,” says Parmar.
“I am so excited to be on-board working with the team in developing dishes that diners will absolutely love.”
The full menu will feature pani puri shots (£6); Bombay burrito served with chicken tikka, lamb kebab or paneer (£10.50); butter chicken wings (£7.50); masala curries (£8-£9.50); and a mixed grill sharing platter (£19).
Sandy Bhambra, founder of Masala & Coal, says Parmar’s involvement will allow the restaurant to offer diners “something different” to other curry houses.
