The Orange Buffalo secures second permanent restaurant site in London
New York-style chicken wing brand The Orange Buffalo has secured its second bricks and mortar site in the capital, on Argyll Street in Soho, which it will launch next week.

The London-based street food operator, which currently operates a permanent restaurant in Tooting and food truck spots in Shoreditch and Hoxton Square, will open its new location next Monday (12 April) in line with the lifting of lockdown restrictions on outdoor hospitality settings.

Primarily the site will serve as a takeaway location, consisting of a hole-in-the-wall style kitchen and outdoor heated terrace with space for 24 covers.

The menu will feature The Orange Buffalo's 'signature' range of burgers and wings, which can be served with house-made sauces that include The Original, made with Dutch chillies; Woof Woof, made with scotch bonnets, Dutch chillies and naga; and K-Town, which consists of gochujang paste, soy, honey and sesame seeds.

Earlier this year, BigHospitality revealed that The Orange Buffalo was accelerating its plans for both national and global expansion after signing its first franchise partner in the UK.

The business was founded by childhood friends Nick White and Mike So in Shoreditch’s Truman Brewery back in 2012, and later expanded to Hoxton.

It opened its first bricks and mortar restaurant in Tooting in the summer of 2019.

The Orange Buffalo is expected to open its first site under franchise later this year, with locations in Milton Keynes and St Albans both currently being considered.

According to franchise advisor Whitney Myrus, the chain could grow to 50 sites in the UK in the next five years, with talks also currently ongoing to establish global outposts in countries including the US, China, Gibraltar, Sweden, and Finland.

While the growth will primarily focus on expanding The Orange Buffalo as a restaurant concept, there will also be scope to launch food truck and dark kitchen locations.

It is hoped that at least 10 franchise partners will be signed in the UK before the end of the year.
