Waitrose has collaborated with The Nero Group to develop the new café concept, which will serve fresh coffee from The Nero Roasting Company and food by Waitrose.
The first Waitrose stores to feature the new cafés will be: Billericay, Godalming, Keynsham, Locks Heath, and Stroud.
It builds on The Nero Group’s existing partnership with Waitrose, which was established in 2021 and offers Nero-roasted coffee to nine million MyWaitrose loyalty customers.
“Our partnership with Waitrose continues to build and we’ve been delighted with the close working relationship we have grown,” says Will Stratton-Morris, Caffè Nero CEO UK
“We have always seen the potential to deepen that relationship further and the launch of the new cafes in Waitrose is a key step in that process, as is widening the scope of our relationship with our first Caffe Nero store within a John Lewis store.”
The 1,500sq ft Caffè Nero site will seat 72 people and offer the brand’s full range of speciality coffees and deli food.
“I’m excited that customers can enjoy the hospitality and premium coffee of a Caffè Nero within the unique shopping experience of John Lewis,” Stratton-Morris continues.
“It’s a perfect pairing and there is still so much scope for our partnership to continue to grow.”
The Nero Group operates over 1,050 stores across 10 countries, including more than 625 Caffè Nero stores across the UK.
It recently acquired coffee shop chains 200 Degrees and FCB Coffee.
