German Doner Kebab (GDK) has revealed it is targeting 25 new openings this year beginning with its first train station location, which has just launched in London Victoria.

The Hero Brands-owned QSR chain has taken over the former The Fresh Pizza Co. site on the top floor of Victoria Place Shopping Centre for its 144th UK opening and its 55th in the capital.

Open from 8am, the restaurant will be part of GDK’s ongoing breakfast menu trial, which will be served daily until 11am.

Breakfast options include the ‘big breakfast wrap’ (pictured) featuring doner meat, two free-range eggs, hash brown bites, sliced tomatoes, onion and GDK’s ‘signature’ melted cheese and yoghurt sauce.

“As one of London’s busiest stations, this is the perfect spot to reach a diverse group of customers who are looking for a quick and delicious meal while on the go,” says Simon Wallis, GDK CEO.

“We cannot wait to become a regular stop-off for those working and travelling in the area.”

Earlier this month, Hero Brands said it was plotting further expansion of its GDK brand after reporting system-wide global sales of £163.7m for the year ended 31 December 2023.

GDK opened 19 new restaurants globally during the 2023 financial period and a further 16 in 2024.

Another 25 openings are planned for the coming year.

“We’re immensely proud of the brand we have created and want to give a special thanks to our hard-working team across the country, and especially our franchise partners, as we gear up to celebrating our 150th opening,” adds Wallis.
