Top-end Paris restaurant Café Lapérouse has closed its London outpost within Whitehall’s The OWO after less than two years trading.

A note on The OWO’s website confirms that a new dining outlet will open in its place in the future.

“A remarkable new dining destination is on its way to the Grand Courtyard,” it says.

The closure of Café Lapérouse was first reported last week by The Standard.

Owned by Moma Group, the inaugural Café Lapérouse opened its doors in 2021 in the centre of Paris at Hotel de la Marine, on Place de la Concorde.

It launched its London outpost within The OWO in the summer of 2023 following the hotel’s opening.

In a statement released to The Standard, Moma Group said the closure was part of a review of its portfolio.

It said: “Moma Group has decided not to continue operating Café Lapérouse London.

“This decision is part of a review of the group’s locations and brands, their local and international ambitions.”

Formerly the Old War Office, The OWO is home to the Raffles London hotel and holds a total of nine restaurant spaces and three bars.

The hotel’s restaurant collection includes concepts from high-profile chefs Mauro Colagreco and Endo Kazutoshi, and a London outpost for Milanese brand Paper Moon.
