Yorkshire-based wine merchant Barrique Fine Wines is opening a wine bar in Leeds next month.

Taking over the former La Casita site in the city’s Granary Wharf, NoNo is described as a ‘laid-back, judgment-free’ space that will champion ‘quality, terroir-driven wines’.

It will be located within the wharf’s Dark Arches next to the south entrance of Leeds train station.

NoNo’s drinks list will offer a constantly evolving selection of more than 50 wines by the glass, with a focus on new and emerging producers, diverse grape varieties, and unexpected finds, alongside iconic and cult classics.

It will have an interactive digital menu that filters recommendations based on personal taste preferences, with those wanting to delve deeper able to explore detailed information on each wine.

“We believe wine should be about discovery, enjoyment, and sharing stories,” says Edd Simpson, founder of Barrique Fine Wines.

“Our aim is to create a space where everyone feels comfortable exploring wine in a way that’s fun, engaging, and completely free of intimidation.

“We’re giving everyone the chance to discover the incredible diversity of wine.”

NoNo will also announce its food offer in the next couple of weeks.
