Located on Princess Street and adjoining the Whitworth Locke Hotel, Winsome will bring ‘thoughtful British cooking’ to Manchester with a regularly changing menu of dishes that will have ‘a comforting familiarity’.
Moffat is an award-winning chef who has worked at London restaurants including Manteca, Hix and St. Leonards before relocating to Manchester.
He recently worked at Edinburgh Castle in Ancoats, where he was executive chef, and the Lamb of Tartary in the Northern Quarter of the city.
He was also named Manchester Chef of the Year at the 2024 Manchester Food and Drink Festival Awards and most recently headed up the kitchen at MAYA restaurant in the city.
“Opening the doors will be a big moment in my career,” he says. “I am truly excited to share Winsome with the people of Manchester”.
The drinks programme at Winsome will be led by Tom Fastiggi, previously of Schofield’s Bar. Fastiggi and the Winsome team will also take over Whitworth Locke’s Atrium hotel bar.
“The Atrium space truly gives a unique feel to this bar,” says Fastiggi.
“The drinks will be familiar, and a warm welcome will await all guests. It’s a great new addition to Manchester’s hospitality scene.”
Completing the team will be Owain Williams, founder of the renowned Belzan in Liverpool, Madre and Manchester’s Medlock Canteen.
