Dan O’Regan, alongside executive chef and co-owner Jack Briggs-Horan, will open French bistro Lapin in Cargo 2 at Bristol’s harbourside this spring.
The new restaurant will bring the pair’s modern take on French cuisine and bistro culture to the city with a style of cooking that focuses on a more classical style of eating out. It will serve an a la carte menu inspired by Briggs-Horan’s background of cooking in traditional French restaurants
Lapin will also adopt BANK’s approach to local sourcing, using some of the best producers across the southwest as well as the group’s own smallholding,
Wine will play a big role at the restaurant, with Lapin serving a wide-ranging list of French wines as well as some French styles from around the world. All wines on the list will be available by the glass.
“Having enjoyed such success and support for our wood fired sharing plates ethos at BANK, we’re unbelievably excited to be opening a restaurant that’s inspired by the inimitable style of French cooking,” says O’Regan.
“Warm hospitality, and a relaxed convivial spirit, backed up by playful twists on French classics, are going to be our foundation, and we really can’t wait to welcome both new and existing guests through our doors. Wapping Wharf is without a doubt a bastion of incredible restaurants in Bristol.
“From having our neighbourhood restaurant in Totterdown, it felt right to branch out to such a vibrant and community-minded part of the Bristol dining scene.”
BANK is a live-fire neighbourhood restaurant that opened in Totterdown area of Bristol in 2021.
Lapin will launch at Wapping Wharf’s Cargo 2 on 2 April.
