D2, which is led by Almost Famous’s former operations director Daniel Kelly, has taken on the group’s restaurants in Manchester’s Northern Quarter and on Liverpool’s Parr Street, with both sites set to reopen in the next week.
It comes after Almost Famous closed its three-strong estate last month, citing lingering Covid debt and rising costs.
“We’re buzzing to get Almost Famous back - hire as many of the old team as we can, get the grills on and the burgers flying out,” says Kelly.
“I’ve been part of this brand, and I know what it takes to maintain its bigger, better, and make-it-outrageous approach.
“We’re here to bring back the legendary AF experience - killer service, next-level food, and all the chaotic, messy, unforgettable vibes that made Almost Famous, well… Famous.”
Terms of the acquisition deal were not disclosed.
Almost Famous launched in 2012 and was an early proponent of the better burger movement, becoming well-known across the North West for its towering burgers.
Founded by Beau Myers, the group had four restaurants at its peak.
Almost Famous Manchester will relaunch on Friday 21 February, with the Liverpool site scheduled to reopen on Monday 24 February.
