London’s sandwich game continues to thrive with a new brioche sandwich bar and tapas restaurant coming to Fitzrovia next month.

Called La SPOT, it will open on Charlotte Street on 2 April and is promising a ‘brioche revolution’ that will make bread ‘sexy’.

Menu items will include brioche with fillings such as oxtail and cheddar - pulled oxtail with red wine sauce, cheddar, black pepper, and wild rocket; red prawns cooked with kimchi, fresh ginger, and crispy rice; sauted vegetables with garlic, green apple, tomato juice and goat (or vegan) cheese; and chicken curry with confit piquillo pepper and briquele cheese.

Also on the menu will be an octopus hot dog with onion marmalade with Makato cheese, potato julianne and hot paprika.

La SPOT will also serve a range of tapas dishes, including sea bass carpaccio; patatas bravas; jamon croquettes; and tempura fried long peppers with a yellow mustard mayo as well as a number of salads and sides such as fries.

Dessert options include Basque cheesecake available in classic, strawberry and chocolate; churros; and a range of ice cream and sorbets.

“With a menu that doesn’t hurt your pocket and dishes that can stimulate your cravings at every hour of the day, La SPOT is the place to be whether you’re a prowling foodie, urban professional, weekend explorer, or a student looking for your next favourite meal,” according to the restaurant.

The restaurant has been inspired by a shared obsession for brioche, tapas, and wine between the restaurant’s three creators.
