Viral jacket potato slinger SpudBros has partnered with Taster to launch a new restaurant and takeaway franchise concept.

Franchise opportunities for SpudBros Express are available now via Seeds Consulting, with the concept as ‘a fast, fun, and flavour-packed food experience that combines loaded jacket potatoes with viral entertainment’.

The group says it hopes to expand the concept, which it established as a pop up in London last year, to towns and cities across the UK.

“SpudBros is exactly what today’s consumer craves – comfort food with character, and a brand that already commands attention online,” says Matteo Frigeri, founder of Seeds Consulting.

“We’re thrilled to be helping them scale SpudBros Express across the UK with the right partners.”

SpudBros was founded by brothers Jacob and Harley Nelson and started out life as a hot potato tram in Preston.

The brand’s popularity grew through social media videos of the pair filming customer orders that racked up hundreds of millions of views.

Today SpudBros has more than six million followers across TikTok, Instagram and YouTube, and has collaborated with some of the biggest names in youth culture including the Sidemen and MrBeast.

“With SpudBros Express, we’re bringing the legacy of the Preston Flag Market jacket potato, something that’s been iconic to our town since 1955, to the world,” says Jacob Nelson.

“We’re buzzing to partner with the country’s most ambitious and community-minded franchisees to bring the greatest spuds on earth to high streets across the UK.”

SpudBros Express launched a pop-up site on Archer Street in London’s Soho in December that was originally only meant to run until the end of February, but now continues to trade indefinitely.

The menu features a range of loaded jacket potatoes including the SpudBros Classic with garlic butter, three cheese mix and baked beans that’s topped with crispy onions and ‘tram sauce’.

“SpudBros Express is not just about food - it’s about redefining the British takeaway,” says Bertrand Peyrat, CEO of Taster.

“We are at the forefront of a new wave of fast food, proving that real, hearty meals with a personal touch can thrive in an industry dominated by global chains.

“Their story is an example of how social media is transforming our industry, attracting a new generation hungry for entertainment, connection and food with heart.”
