Sam Carter and his wife Alex Olivier will open Margaret’s on Chesterton Road, just a few doors down from their flagship restaurant, on 9 June.
It is described as ‘a relaxed, modern British bistro restaurant’ that will be a more relaxed setting to Restaurant 22 and which will serve a produce-led shared and set menu that ‘elevates locally sourced ingredients’.
Restaurant 22 has been operating on Chesterton Road in Cambridge for more than 30 years. Carter and Olivier took over the lease of the converted Victorian townhouse and relaunched it in 2018.
The restaurant was awarded a Michelin star in 2023 and is currently ranked 78th on the National Restaurant Awards list of the UK’s Top 100 Restaurants.
