Deadline extended to enter the Estrella Damm Sustainability Award

Sustainability Award

Restaurants have until 16 May to enter the Estrella Damm Sustainability Award, with shortlisted entrants invited to this year’s National Restaurant Awards.

The award, which is judged by the expert team at The Sustainable Restaurant Association, recognises a restaurant’s standout action from the past year that have made a real impact, which could be a bold idea, a shift in day-to-day operations or a change in sustainability strategy.

If you are lucky enough to be shortlisted you will be invited to the National Restaurant Awards, being held in London on 9 June, where the winner will be announced.

We want to hear from you if you’ve redesigned your menu to cut high-impact ingredients; transformed your supply chain to drive positive change upstream; improved how you take care of your team; used your platform to shift how diners consider their food choices; introduced a community-focused initiative, or have done something else smart and creative in terms of sustainability.

How your wider approach to sustainability supports this work, looking at the full picture across the areas of sourcing, society and the environment will also be considered.

Judging is based on the Food Made Good Standard – the world’s largest global sustainability certification tailored specifically for the hospitality sector. This 360-degree framework uses a holistic approach to define what sustainability means for restaurants today.

Previous winners have included The Bull Inn in Totnes, Where The Light Gets In in Stockport, and Pensons in Tenbury Wells.

Shortlisted restaurants will then be notified by 23rd May and invited to the National Restaurant Awards, where the winner will be announced.
