Sam and Georgie Pearman, the duo behind the Country Creatures group of boutique hotels and pubs, are adding to their portfolio next year.

The pair have taken on a sixteenth century coaching inn in the village of Ewen in the southern Cotswolds to open The Wild Duck Inn pub with rooms.

Originally the gardener’s cottage to nearby Ewen Manor, the Grade II listed building is made of Cotswold stone and is covered in ivy, with a striking flying duck clock peeping through the leaves.

It will open in the summer of 2026 following a sympathetic refurbishment that will maintain the pub’s original low beamed ceilings. In addition, the pair will introduce 20 new bedrooms, all designed by Georgie using local artisans and antiques, finished with king beds and roll top baths.

The pub will serve a menu that will focus on local and seasonal ingredients.

The Wild Duck Inn will join Country Creatures’ existing estate that includes The Double Red Duke and The Mason’s Arms in Clanfield,
