The smash burger brand will open a restaurant in Dublin’s Temple Bar in the site of a former Leon next month
The deal, brokered by F&B franchise consultancy Seeds Consulting, marks Fat Phill’s second international market entry, following the brand’s expansion into the UK in 2024 with a site in Clapham.
The newly signed agreement includes a development plan to roll out multiple locations across Ireland over the next five years.
Founded in 2019 by Armin Vahabian, Fat Phill’s has grown to 20 locations across the Netherlands. Last year it signed a franchise agreement with Freshly Baked to develop the brand across the UK, with plans to open three sites on busy Greater London high streets in the near future and up to 100 sites over the next 10 years.
“We’re incredibly proud to be taking Fat Phill’s to the Republic of Ireland, our second international market,” says Vahabian.
“It’s a key milestone in our vision of becoming a truly global brand. The Irish market has a dynamic food scene and a strong appetite for high-quality, craveable fast-casual dining—our concept fits perfectly. We look forward to growing with our new partners and bringing the Fat Phill’s experience to more burger lovers.”
Seeds Consulting Founder Matteo Frigeri adds: “This agreement highlights the international potential of the Fat Phill’s brand. It’s a concept that’s proven to deliver for franchisees, not just in terms of ROI but in customer loyalty and brand impact.
“We’re confident that the new Irish partner will replicate the same success seen in the Netherlands and the UK.”
