Geoff and Lucas Leong have opened Love Dumplings’ Legend on Chancery Lane serving a menu of dim sum and Chinese comfort food from breakfast until early evening.
Described as a ‘bold reimagining of the original concept’, Love Dumplings’ Legend is a tech-led fast-casual restaurant. Menu items include classics dishes such as pork xiao long bao; prawn har gau; pork and prawn siu mai; and char siu bao, alongside new favourites including spicy duck dumplings; and seabass with fennel dumplings.
Beyond dim sum, the restaurant serves a selection of bowls and street food, including Taiwanese slow-cooked pork belly; Hong Kong curry fishball; sweet and sour chicken; mapo tofu; chili won ton; curry beef brisket; kung pao chicken; and chicken sweetcorn soup.

It will also mark the first time the duo will serve a breakfast menu at the brand with early morning options drawing inspiration from the comforting, carb-heavy mornings of Hong Kong’s cafés but with a modern London twist. Options include sweet potato congee; sausage buns; BBQ pork bao; and tea eggs served from 8am alongside crispy dough fritters; and yoghurt pots such as matcha red bean yoghurt.
Love Dumplings’ Legend’s accompanying drinks menu is said to walk a line between speciality café and Hong Kong’s cha chaan tengs - casual teahouses that emerged in the 1950s serving Western-influenced dishes such as milk tea, pineapple buns and macaroni soup. Options include hojicha and matcha lattes; soy milk; almond tea, black sesame latte; and Earl grey panna cotta milk tea.
“We’re excited to embark on the next part of our journey, bringing a decade of knowledge on Chinese cuisine to the city,” say the pair.

Geoff and Lucas Leong opened Dumplings’ Legend in 2010, with the restaurant becoming one of the most popular in Chinatown.
In 2022 they founded 16-seat omakase restaurant Taku, which won a Michelin star after just four months of being open.
In 2023, they launched Taku’s younger sister restaurant, INÉ and Karuto, a dessert brand serving Japanese-inspired treats.
