Base Face Pizza will open a fourth pizzeria in its estate next month.

The neighbourhood-style pizzeria brand has acquired a former butcher shop on Kew Road, on the border of Richmond and Kew.

The new site will have inside and outdoor seating, and is due to open on 17 June.

Base Face serves a range of ‘slow dough’ pizza using a pizza base created to have a very low GI that’s made with a mix of 00 flour blended and tritordeum flour and proved for 48 hours.

Options include the Nduja - spicy nduja sausage, mozzarella, tomato, and basil; Carbonara - crispy guanciale, egg yolk, pecorino, mozzarella, and black pepper; Truffle Shuffle - a truffle crema base with roast mushrooms, mozzarella, and olive oil; and Cheeky Pineapple, made with pineapple jam, Cobble Lane pepperoni, jalapeños, mozzarella, tomato, and basil.

It says the new site will serve its large 18-inch sharing pizzas alongside its personal sized 12-inch ones.

Base Face Pizza launched in lockdown as a charitable fundraiser by Tim Thornton, a trained jazz musician who lost his income due to the pandemic and so pivoted to delivering pizzas across Chiswick and Hammersmith with the help of his wife.

It operates venues in Hammersmith, Barnes, and Putney.
