Dalston’s 40ft Brewery has launched a crowdfunding campaign to help it open two new venues in London.

The brewery, founded by Steve Ryan inn 2015, is marking its 10th anniversary with expansion across the capital, with plans to open a brewery and taproom on Walthamstow’s Blackhorse Beer Mile, as well as for a second site in Dalston.

Dubbed as a more grown-up version of the Dalston taproom, the Walthamstow brewery will have a strong community focus and will host daytime events for children and their parents, a dog park, a hireable spaces for big events and parties, food pop-ups and weddings.

Back in Hackney, 40ft will also be taking over the Dalston RoofPark in August, marking a return to the location having poured its first pint back there in 2015. The reimagined Dalston RoofTop will return to its roots as a community hub, hosting cultural events.

The brewery is looking to raise £50,000 on platform Crowdfunder with backers able to exchange their investment for double money drinks credit at all venues. A range of one-off rewards is also on offer, including an invitation to a launch party, lifetime discounts, and private party for 200 people with drinks thrown in.

“Unlike equity crowdfunds this campaign gives you an immediate return on your investment, especially at a time when money is tight,” says Ryan.

“The brewery is growing up, just as we are. Dalston is where I met my wife, and the Walthamstow taproom is where we’ll bring our family. Both spaces will serve different needs of the community. We’re crowdfunding to help raise awareness of our new venues and offer our guests an immediate return on their investment, by stretching their money across multiple visits and venues.”

40ft Brewery started in a couple of old shipping containers in a Dalston car park in 2015. In May this year it introduced a rebrand with two of its signature brews, Disco Pils and Dalston Sunrise made with a lower abv to reflect consumer drinking habits, and a new core range that includes Main Squeeze, a hazy IPA; Rewind, a West Coast IPA; and Deep, a dry Irish stout.
