Brandon takes over the leadership of the group having originally joined it as CFO in March 2022
He previously worked for the likes of Popeyes in the US and Burger King in the Asia Pacific region.
Brandon’s promotion comes at a significant moment for the Honest Burgers business, which launched its QSR smash burger brand, Honest Smash + Grab, late last year on the site of its restaurant near London’s Liverpool Street Station.
The group is understood to be developing plans to grow the fledgling concept across the country as part of a wider ambition to ‘quadruple the size of the business’ by 2030.
Brandon previously led Honest Burgers on an interim basis during the tail end of last year after then CEO Thomas Kelly moved into the role of group chair having only served eight months as leader himself.
A spokesperson for Honest Burgers said: “We are delighted to announce that Matt Brandon steps up from CFO to CEO, having previously acted as interim CEO last year delivering the best commercial performance in the brand’s history.
“We believe that Matt is best placed to lead Honest into our next phase of accelerated growth.”
Styles joined Honest Burgers as CEO in January having previously spent nearly two and a half years as leader of the Jamie Oliver Group.
However, after just seven months in the role he has now left to succeed Tom Ross as CEO of The Pig Hotel Group.
“The Pig is a brand that I have long admired, and I am deeply honoured to join as CEO, working alongside a senior leadership team with over 50 years of combined service,” says Styles of his new appointment.
Honest Burgers was launched in 2011 by Tom Barton and Phillip Eeles and now operates 38 restaurants across England and Wales under its core brand alongside its Smash + Grab site.
