Adam Byatt’s latest restaurant project is inspired by famed cookery writer and educator Constance Spry.

The top line: A Thames-side brasserie in leafy Fulham from chef Adam Byatt. Brasserie Constance follows the success of his Michelin-starred flagship Trinity down the road in Clapham Old Town and Mayfair’s Charlie’s. The restaurant is part of Fulham FC’s newly built Fulham Pier development and offers sweeping views of the river and the surprisingly bucolic riverbank beyond.

On the menu: Brasserie Constance may be connected to a football stadium, but those expecting burgers, pies and jumbo hotdogs will be disappointed. Inspired by famed florist, cookery writer and educator Constance Spry, the restaurant offers a refined brasserie-style menu that sees Byatt put a British twist on the distinctive yet classically grounded French cooking that has seen Trinity become one of the capital’s most beloved restaurants (it is currently ranked fourth on Restaurant’s list of the top 100 places to eat in the UK). Options include dainty pea and mint tarts; omelette soufflé with girolles; and a sharing dish of chicken baked in a clay pot with barley and beer. There are also several dishes that nod to Spry as the co-creator of Coronation chicken, including a crab vol-au-vent (pictured above).

The vibe: The 150-cover space is smart with a bright and contemporary look. The main dining room is festooned with flowers courtesy of his wife Vicki, a florist, further underscoring that Brasserie Constance is not a football stadium restaurant, but rather a standalone destination that just happens to be connected to one.

And another thing: The British theme at Byatt’s latest project extends to the sourcing with around 90% of Brasserie Constance’s produce coming from the UK.
