The French-owned Italian restaurant group will launch Gloria Osteria on Dublin’s Westmoreland Street on the south side of the city at the end of 2025.
The restaurant will pay tribute to the Italian glamour of the 1970s and have space for 180 covers as well as a 22-cover private dining room.
Big Mamma opened its first restaurant under the Gloria brand in 2019 When it made its UK debut in London’s Shoreditch. It followed this with the opening of a Gloria Osteria in Milan in 2023 and earlier this year it followed it up with the opening of Gloria Osteria in Barcelona’s Eixample neighbourhood.
“Dublin is a city I love as it reminds us Italians of home, its strong sense of community and vibrant restaurant culture, which with the beautiful Gloria Osteria we hope to be a small part of,” says co-managing director Enrico Pireddu.
“After throwing open the doors to Gloria in Milan in 2023, we knew we had such something special; an osteria paying tribute to the iconic Italian glamour of the ’70s, where exceptional produce and a vibrant, groovy ambiance come together to create a truly memorable experience.”
The opening is part of Big Mamma Group’s continued expansion. In June this year it opened a restaurant under its Circolo Popolare brand in Manchester and it has also launched Barbarella, inspired by the golden age of 70s Roman cinema, in Canary Wharf.
The group is also understood to be opening a site in the City.
