The brand, which opened its first bricks and mortar site in Glasgow last September, has launched a second permanent restaurant on Marchmont Road in the Scottish capital.
Like its first site, Sear’s Edinburgh serves a menu of 10 classic hand-tossed, thin-crust pizzas that are available to order by the slice or as a full 18-inch pie.
Toppings include pepperoni with tomato and mozzarella; white pizza with fresh ricotta, scamorza, cheddar, mozzarella and chives; and a house pizza with vodka sauce, mozzarella and pesto.
The Edinburgh site has also expanded the menu to include a selection of sides such as buffalo ranch tenders, and truffle parmesan fries.
Sear’s Pizza is the creation of Glasgow-based restaurateur Paul Beveridge, who also owns and runs Ramen Dayo and Yakitori Shack in the city.
Similarly to the Glasgow location, Sear’s Edinburgh’s interiors take cues from New York pizza joints with exposed brick, wood panelled walls, an 80’s style menu board, self-serve soda fountain, New York City imagery and neon signs.
New York-style pizza is a trend gaining in popularity across the UK restaurant scene.
In London, social media sensation Crisp Pizza is preparing to open a pub and restaurant in Mayfair led by founder Carl McCluskey and backed by the team behind popular Soho gastropub The Devonshire.
Meanwhile, Manchester’s New York-style pizza brand Nell’s is to launch its fifth restaurant this autumn in MediaCity’s quayside Orange Building.
