The group will take over the former 176 Bar & Kitchen restaurant on Linthorpe Road for its latest restaurant, which will hold 20 covers.
The opening will be managed by franchisee Safi Nayyar, who also runs Burger Drop’s restaurant in Whitley Bay.
“Linthorpe Road was an easy choice for us,” he says.
“It’s right in the centre of where Middlesbrough meets and eats.
“The town has a vibrant food scene and we’re here to add to it with burgers built with precision and packed with flavour.
“This is more than just a new restaurant, it’s about becoming part of the community, giving Middlesbrough the Burger Drop experience it deserves.”
Founded during lockdown, Burger Drop has built a loyal following for its menu that includes a range of smash burgers, loaded fries – including those topped with pulled beef brisket and donner meat – and fried chicken wings.
The group opened its first site in Newcastle in 2020 and has since expanded to Whitley Bay, Sunderland and Manchester in England.
Earlier this year Burger Drop made its Scottish debut in Edinburgh.
Further openings are currently being planned, with the group aiming to eventually expand across the UK.
