Claude Bosi’s eponymous two Michelin star restaurant within the Michelin House building in London’s Chelsea has ceased trading, suddenly, after seven years.

Bosi and his wife Lucy, whom he ran the restaurant with, confirmed in a statement posted to Instagram that its last service was held on 25 August and all future bookings have been cancelled.

The couple said that despite their best efforts, they had been unable to reach a resolution with their business partners and landlords that would have allowed the restaurant to move into its next chapter.

Claude Bosi’s Oyster Bar, which occupied the ground floor space of Michelin House, is also set to close with its last service due to be held on 31 August.

The statement reads: “It is with deep sadness that we announce Claude Bosi Restaurant ceased trading on 25 August and the Oyster Bar will close after service on 31 August.

“Despite our very best efforts, we were unable to reach a resolution with our partners and landlords that would allow Michelin House to move into its next chapter.

“It is with regret that we confirm that bookings past these dates have been cancelled, and we are truly sorry for any disappointment this may cause.”

The pair added that their foremost priority is their team.

“We are personally committed to ensuring that every member of staff is fully supported and guided into new opportunities within our group,” they said.

“We will continue to dedicate our focus to Brooklands by Claude Bosi, proudly holding two Michelin stars, as well as to Josephine in Chelsea and Marylebone.

“We are deeply grateful for the incredible support shown to us over the years.

“It has been an honour to be part of the Michelin House story, and a privilege to share that journey with you.”

Claude Bosi at Bibendum Chelsea opened its doors in the spring of 2017 and has held two stars in the Michelin Guide since 2018.

The restaurant has also been a long-time fixture of the National Restaurant Awards Top 100 list, which describes it as ‘a masterclass in refined French cooking’.

It is currently ranked at number 39 on the list and was previously the recipient of the Service Award in 2019.
