The former restaurateur is partnering with acclaimed Spanish chef Quique Dacosta at his Arros QD restaurant in Fitzrovia for The Imagination Journey, a dining experience created by the pair to tell a story.
The event is being held on 7 October and will be hosted by Morales and restaurateur and TV personality Andi Oliver in support of The Institute Of Imagination (ioi), with all proceeds directed to the iOi’s creative learning programmes for children.
A five-course meal will be served, that will features the Don Ceviche, a dish of stone bass, amarillo chilli, and sweet potato that was a signature dish of Ceviche; Valencian kale salad - an ArrosQD favourite; grilled Atlantic octopus, chancaca syrup, salsa criolla, and lucuma puree, that was Morales’ favourite dish at Andina; and paella Valenciana, Dacosta’s signature dish.
Dessert will be a tarta de Santiago, co-created by the pair.
Morales, a former DJ, launched Peruvian restaurant Ceviche in London’s Soho in 2012 and followed it up with the opening of Andina in Shoreditch and a second Ceviche in Old Street. The business closed in 2019.
“Leaving Ceviche broke my heart. But seeing children grow up without the freedom to imagine breaks it more,” says Morales.
“At the iOi, we’ve helped 100,000 children unlock creativity. Now, with Quique, I’m stepping back into the kitchen to raise hope and vital funds.”
Tickets start at £190 per guest for the dining room experience but also include a £280 per guest counter experience (6 seats only) and the hire of the 18-cover private room for a chef’s table experience, priced at £360 per guest.
