Wingstop UK has described 2024 as a ‘transformational year’ for the business with pre-tax profits more than tripling and turnover soaring past the £100m mark.

Revenue rose to £125m in the nine months ended 29 December 2024, up from £84.7m in the 12 months to March 2024.

In the results, Wingstop UK has changed its year-end to December and as such the first three months of 2024 are covered in the previous results.

Going forward the accounts will be for 12 months to December.

Pre-tax profits over the nine-month period rose from £3.6m to £13.2m with the group adding 15 new sites and noting ‘strong underlying sales’ from its existing estate.

By the year end the group operated a total of 57 sites.

Since the beginning of 2025 the group has continued to accelerate its expansion, bolstered by California-based investment firm Sixth Street acquiring a majority stake in the business at the beginning of the year.

Wingstop UK has so far opened 15 sites this year and has set out an ambition to reach 200 sites nationally by 2030.

2024 was a transformational year for Wingstop UK, delivering record results across every metric and further strengthening profitability,” says Paddy Bamford, CFO at Wingstop UK.

“Since partnering with Sixth Street in January 2025, we’ve accelerated our UK roll-out programme and deepened our investment in people.

“We’re focused on building the UK’s leading fast-casual restaurant brand, powered by the hard work and dedication of our people — the heartbeat of our business.”

The group adds that current trading for 2025 is in-line with expectations.

“With trading in line with expectations, new store openings across the country, and 2025 shaping up to be another landmark year, we’re excited by the scale of expansion opportunities ahead while staying true to our focus on youth culture, our communities, and sustainable growth.”

In June this year, Wingstop UK was recognised as the fastest growing restaurant group in the UK by The Sunday Times 100 for the third year in a row.

The group has also featured in The Sunday Times’ Best Places to Work, as well as Financial Times’ FT1000
