Ramsay will feature in Open to Close, a five-episode documentary series that follows leading culinary figures and explores the intensity, artistry, and commitment needed to run elite restaurants at the highest level from first thing in the morning to the last thing at night.
The new series is being funded by the cookware brand HexClad which, in 2024, announced a $100m investment from Studio Ramsay Global – the partnership between the multi-Michelin star chef and Fox Entertainment with the deal including a combination of cash and media commitments.
Open to Close is the second high-profile restaurant focused series that Ramsay has been involved in this year. In May his production company partnered with Michelin to create the eight-episode series Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars, hosted by Topjaw co-founder Jesse Burgess.
Ramsay will appear alongside other industry names and HexClad Culinary Council members, Nancy Silverton, Dominique Crenn, Clare Smyth, and Paul Ainsworth.
The full series premiered as a feature-length documentary yesterday (1 December), free to stream exclusively on Tubi, with individual episodes launching biweekly on YouTube beginning 3 December.
“Open to Close pulls back the curtain on what really happens in a professional kitchen, the pressure, the chaos, the precision,” says Ramsay.
“HexClad is built for chefs who push boundaries, and this series captures that spirit perfectly.”
Daniel Winer, co-founder and CEO of HexClad adds: "Open to Close gives audiences an inside look at what it takes to run some of the world’s most extraordinary restaurants, revealing how exceptional cooking comes down to three things: the right tools, genuine passion, and never settling.
“We’re proud to spotlight the chefs who inspire us and honour the innovation, dedication, and craftsmanship that defines both their work and ours.”
