Ten years on from when the Trullo duo burst onto London’s pasta restaurant scene with their continually oversubscribed Padella in Borough Market, they will open a restaurant in Soho.
The duo announced the opening on Instagram with an image of the site accompanied by the word ‘Cowabunga!’, a catchphrase popularised by children’s cartoon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Launching in spring 2026 on Kingly Street, the new restaurant will likely feature many of the Padella classics, including its pici cacio e pepe (pictured below); pappardelle with eight hours Dexter beef shin ragu; and ravioli of delica pumpkin, Westcombe ricotta and sage butter, as well as some new dishes.
The new 80-seater restaurant will be spread across two floors, with interior features of wood, formica and chrome on the ground floor to set an ‘upbeat tone’ while downstairs will pay homage to the 1960s lounges once found across Soho.
It join the pair’s other site, in Shoreditch, which opened in early 2020, as well as the Borough Market original, which opened in 2016.

“We have always felt the energy of Soho was a perfect fi t for Padella, and we’ve spent a long time looking for the right space,” say the pair.
“Bringing our fresh pasta to Kingly Street is something we are both incredibly excited about, and we hope it becomes a place where people can drop in for a quick plate or settle in for a long evening.”
London’s pasta restaurant sector continues to expand. Phil Howard is soon to open a third, more quick serve, format of his pasta brand Notto and Bancone recently announced that it would also open a site in the new year.
The group, which operates four sites across central London, has chosen the City for its latest venture, with Bancone Bank also set to open next spring.
