Atelier Hearth, named for its dual spirit - ‘atelier’, meaning the maker’s workshop, and ‘hearth’, the heart of the home - will offer an intimate setting for special occasions within Moor Hall’s Grade-II-listed manor house, accommodating up to 12 guests.
Created by chef patron Mark Birchall, the space will reflect the restaurant-with-room’s focus on provenance, with menus shaped by the seasons and ingredients grown, foraged and preserved on the five-acre estate.
The launch marks the beginning of a partnership between Moor Hall and The Macallan, which together will offer access to rare releases from The Macallan Red Collection – single malts aged between 40 and 78 years – alongside hosted tastings led by The Macallan Brand Ambassadors, available on request.
Created with local craftspeople, the private dining room will preserve Moor Hall’s original beams, windows, and hearth. With a circular oak table at its centre, soft lighting and natural materials, the room will have a simple, elegant look.
Atelier Hearth will also be available for an exclusive New Year’s Eve celebration, featuring a one-off tasting menu, champagne at midnight and a firework display across the estate, followed by live music at Moor Hall’s neighbouring restaurant, The Barn.
The evening will include a curated whisky offering, with pours of The Macallan Sherry Oak 25-Year-Old, alongside a Pommeau Highball made with The Macallan 12 Year Double Cask.
Over the next year, the partnership will expand beyond the private dining room with a series of immersive dinners and events celebrating the pairing of whisky and gastronomy at Moor Hall.
Launched in 2017, Moor Hall won its third Michelin star at the beginning of this year.
It is currently ranked number two on Restaurant’s list of the top 100 places to eat in the UK.
