Boparan Restaurant Group CEO Satnam Leihal has stepped down after six years with the casual dining group.

Leihal was described as leading the business, which operates brands including Slim Chickens, Carluccio’s, Cinnamon Collection and Gourmet Burger Kitchen, through a period of ‘significant transformation’, with the business thanking him for his leadership and contribution.

Meanwhile, Richard Pigott has been appointed managing director at the group. Pigott has been with Boparan Restaurant Group since Slim Chickens opened its first UK franchise in 2018, and has played a ‘pivotal role in shaping and growing the business’, it says.

As head of operations, Pigott led the launch and expansion of Slim Chickens in the UK, which operates around 75 sites. As managing director, he will lead the group into its next phase of development, ‘building on the strong foundations already in place’.

“Richard’s appointment reflects his deep knowledge of the business and the key role he has played since BRG was founded,” a spokesperson for Boparan Restaurant Group says.

“From launching Slim Chickens to leading operations across the group, Richard has consistently demonstrated strong leadership and a clear focus on performance and people.”
