Dockworks Waterfront, the new canalside food and events venue from Digbeth Dining Club (DDC), will open at the end of the month.

The 7,000sq ft former steelworks site in Brierley Hill, Dudley, has been reimagined into a 650-capacity hospitality venue following a £500,000 refit.

Dockworks Waterfront will have an indoor two-room main space with a crescent shaped food trader court and seating set against Dudley Canal Marina.

It will have space for up to seven street food traders, with a regularly rotating line-up of businesses drawn from DDC’s pool of culinary talent, which includes operators such as Patty Freaks, Beef on the Block, Yardbirds, Kebab Cartel, Urban Cheesecake, and South Birmingham Curry Club.

The food offer is yet to be announced, but Birmingham chef Dan Lee, winner of MasterChef Professionals in 2021, has been confirmed as being one of the seven traders.

Details of the project were first released by Digbeth Dining Club in October last year, adding to its venue at Herbert’s Yard in Longbridge. The company also operated Hockley Social Club in Birmingham, which closed on 31 December 2025, after five years.

“Dockworks means so much more to us than opening a new venue. It’s about us bringing back a long-forgotten but important site and filling it with good food, good people, and good times,” says Jack Brabant, co-founder and director of DDC.

“We’re also focused on making the most of this opportunity to redefine how a destination venue can be designed for, and with, the community it serves.

“DDC has always sought to push creative boundaries, and this project has allowed us the space to bring our energy and expertise to the waterfront in a really exciting way

“We encourage all fans of casual dining and social experiences to join us and help us to shape this new community venue.”

Dockworks Waterfront opens on 27 February.
