Benugo has entered into a partnership with John Lewis to revamp 32 of its in-store restaurants.

The cafe brand will work with the department store chain to redesign the restaurants with a focus on fresh, high-quality food and welcoming spaces.

The in-store restaurants will run under a new brand and name, which will be revealed when the first six sites reopen from the summer, and will serve new menus that will feature deli, bakery and pizza options.

“We’re incredibly proud of our long standing partnership with John Lewis, and we’re excited to be growing it to create an exciting new brand,” says Benugo founder Ben Warner.

“At Benugo, we care deeply about great food made with fresh, quality ingredients that are thoughtfully sourced and rooted in local suppliers.”

Benugo has previously worked with John Lewis for more than a decade, and has operated cafés in 10 of its department stores, including its Oxford Street store.

The first six restaurants to undergo a revamp will include one on the fifth floor of John Lewis’s flagship Oxford Street store in London as well as in Bluewater, Chichester, Norwich, Nottingham and Reading.

It is understood that all the refurbishments will be completed by the end of next year.

“Our customers will benefit from a fresh and exciting John Lewis hospitality experience as we reimagine how we use the space within our stores,” says John Lewis director of services and hospitality Katie Papakonstantinou.

“Our plans look amazing, and our restaurants and cafés will offer delicious food and drinks combined with the personal service that our customers expect and deserve.”
