Aqua Kyoto restaurant opens in London

The second restaurant in the trinity of Aqua London, the new venue from the Hong Kong-based Aqua Restaurant Group, opens on the top floor of the former Dickens & Jones department store

Aqua Kyoto, the second restaurant in Aqua Restaurant Group's Aqua London trinity, opens today on the top floor of the former Dickens & Jones department store in the West End.

The 112-cover Japanese restaurant and sushi bar follows Aqua Nueva, a Spanish restaurant overseen by Alberto Hernandez, which opened last Friday.

Head chef Kencihi Shibuya, under the guidance of ARG's executive chef Tatsuya Iwahashi, will serve contemporary Japanese cuisine with some dishes prepared on a traditional sumibiyaki grill.

Dishes include Kombu Marinated Sea Bream with Rice Wrapped in Bamboo Leaves and Wagyu Beef with Garlic Soy Ponzu.

The Aqua London trinity will be completed with the opening of pre and post-dining bar, Aqua Spirit. It is the first project outside China for Aqua Restaurant Group, which owns 14 venues in China, including its flagship restaurants Hutong and Aqua.
