Duelling Pianos live entertainment concept launches in the UK
Laitwood Entertainment's Duelling Pianos is a live music entertainment concept which sees two pianists facing one another playing and singing well-known songs.
Audience participation is key and with the pianists playing from a repertoire of more than 1,500 tunes, venues can even pick themes, such as Rock n' Roll or tunes by particular artists if they wish.
The idea, first launched in the USA and used permanently in 50 venues there, can be taken to any venue with enough space for two pianos and enough interest, said Laitwood Entertainment events director Stephen McManus.
"It's ideal for venues looking to boost sales," he said. "Those hosting it can sell tickets or it can be provided as an extra for an event booked, such as a Christmas party or a wedding.
"It's a lot of fun and something different. People have tried Karaoke nights, this is the next thing as it's interactive and really gets the crowd going. And it has already drawn lots of interest. We have just made the website live and put a post on Linkedin and I've already taken six bookings. It seems there's a gap in the market for something different."
Laitwood Entertainment is also looking at opening its own dedicated bar in the UK this year.
