Le Gavroche named best in Europe by TripAdvisor, three other London restaurants make top 10
Le Gavroche (1), Chez Bruce (7), Barrafina (9) and La Trompette (10) were among the top 10 list of dining establishments in Europe. Michel Roux Jr’s Mayfair restaurant Le Gavroche was also named on the Travellers' Choice list of the World's Favourite Restaurants, coming in fifth.
“As the UK’s capital city, London is visited by millions of tourists every year, but in the past it has sometimes been derided for its culinary offerings,” said TripAdvisor spokesperson Emma Shaw. “But now, millions of TripAdvisor users have spoken, proving that London’s restaurants are not only world-class, but enjoyed by those that really matter – the diners.
“We’re thrilled to highlight some of the TripAdvisor community’s favourite restaurants We found that travellers’ favourite restaurants range from well-known, casual chains to upscale fine-dining options – the common thread for these award-winners being a consistently remarkable dining experience with outstanding service and quality.”

In total, 576 restaurants around the world were honoured, including travellers’ overall favourites (Le Bernardin in New York City scooped the top spot) plus travellers' favourites in the U.S., Europe and popular travel destinations. Restaurants that offer dinner and table service were eligible for the awards.
