Soho House Group plans Dirty Burger expansion
According to BigHospitality's sister publication, M&C Report, the group’s second site under the brand, and its first permanent site, will open in Tooting next month.
It is understood that the group, which launched its first site as a shack in Kentish Town last year, plans further openings in Mile End and Vauxhall before the end of this year.
The second Dirty Burger, which has a simple menu of 'juicy burgers, crinkle cut chips and milkshakes', will be housed in the former Le Brunch Cafe at the corner of Tooting High Street and Nutwell Street. The site will also serve alcohol.
The first Dirty Burger opened in September last year at the Kentish Town site alongside Chicken Shop, which serves rotisserie chicken as its only main course, and Pizza East.
It had previously been temporarily homed in Shoreditch House and at the House Festival in early 2012.
Last year, the group trademarked the names Filthy Burger and Naughty Burger.
News of Dirty Burger's expansion comes following the opening of two US burger concepts in the UK earlier this month. Five Guys and Shake Shack opened their first sites in Covent Garden on 4 and 5 July respectively, contributing to the UK's 'burger boom'.
