The development is planned to include a 240 bedroom resort hotel as well as conference venues and a championship golf course, which is being designed in conjunction with Scottish professional golfer Sandy Lyle. There is also a plan to develop 250 chalet-style villas on the site.
The owners are currently working with the Debutesq Group to seek a hotel operator to work with, but have not ruled out selling the site altogether.
Alexandra Hayward of Debutesq Group said: “Scotland is crying out for a resort hotel with conference and leisure facilities on a grand scale and this development will help the country compete better internationally.”
The development will be close to the country’s capital city and 30 minutes’ drive from Edinburgh Airport.
