Claude Bosi to exchange Hibiscus as part of international chef swap
He is joining a group of 37 of the world’s chefs participating in the 2015 The Grand GELINAZ! Shuffle, where they will be swapping lives, identities and restaurants.
The chefs come from a wide range of countries: Japan, Chile, Brazil, Slovenia, France, Turkey, Sweden, Thailand, Australia, Italy, Peru, Spain, Canada, Belgium, Denmark, UK and US.
Designed to allow the chefs to share knowledge, the initiative will expose them to new ingredients and give them a fresh understanding of a different culinary culture.
The programme is the brainchild of creative directors Andrea Petrini and Alexandra Swenden.
Petrini said: "The line-up for this performance is a family of chefs, who take risk as a starting point, that are neither fearful of creativity nor driven by ego, but are fuelled by a desire to explore.”
Other chefs involved include Alain Ducasse and Paris restaurant Plaza Athénée; Ben Shewry and Melbourne, Australia restaurant Attica; David Thompson and NAHM, Bangkok Thailand; Rodolfo Gizman from Borago in Santiago, Chile and Daniel Patterson from COI, San Francisco, USA.
The chefs will arrive at their hosted restaurants on 5 July or 6 July, and a dinner will be held at each restaurant on 9 July. Diners and members of the public will not find out which chef has taken over their chosen restaurant until the day of the dinner.
