London-based restaurant and bar company Drake & Morgan is to open its first airport site this summer, at Heathrow’s Terminal 4.

The Commission will be an all-day, joint venture with hospitality provider Delaware North, and cover 4,800 sq ft across 170 covers. Designed with travellers in mind, it will be open from the first flight of the day to the last, and offer breakfast, brunch, dinner, coffees and cocktails.

There will also be a grab-and-go “picnic” format for passengers who want to take their food on board the plane and don’t have time to sit down on-site.

Jillian MacLean, managing director at Drake & Morgan, said: “Our all-day bar and dining format is ideal for transport hubs and we are working closely with Delaware North to deliver a fresh new concept designed specifically to appeal to travellers, from business passengers through to families.”

Ben Crowley, Heathrow’s head of food and beverage, said: “Drake & Morgan is an incredibly exciting brand and I am delighted to welcome them to Heathrow. This proposal will provide a real point of difference for Terminal 4 with a quintessentially British touch.”

Founded in 2008, Drake & Morgan operates nine sites across London, each with different names, such as the The Happenstance, The Folly, The Anthologist and The Fable. It also operates two The Refinery locations, comprising Bankside and Regent’s Place, and opened its flagship Drake & Morgan at King’s Cross in autumn 2015.

Its menus focus on original cocktails made with fruits and herbs, plus internationally-inspired small plates, salads, burgers, side dishes, grills and steaks.

Delaware North, originally a US company founded in 1915, now operates across sports, entertainment venues, resorts and airports across the world and has over 60,000 employees.
