Smoke Shack out to launch the next national restaurant chain
Barbecue brand Smoke Shack has launched a crowdfunding campaign to expand from two sites in to a national restaurant chain.

The group opened its first site in Stony Stratford in Milton Keynes in 2014 before launching in Bedford in 2015.

Now co-founders Darren Isaac and Terry Pritchard are aiming to raise just under £200k to open up to two new restaurants and kick off their national expansion.

Smoke Shack serves a mix of ribs, hotdogs, burgers and steaks, alongside a range of vegetarian options.

Isaac said the existing sites were a ‘runaway success story’, turning over in excess of £1m betwen them.

In a video posted on group’s Seedrs page, Isaac said: “We wanted to create a new restaurant experience that we could build in to a national chain off the back of the trend for smoked American food, but to do it with a focus on quality local produce.

“[Smoke Shack] was always created to feel like a national brand, and that’s exactly where we intend to take it.”

The group are also aiming to produce a range of sauces, rubs and glazes for the retail market.

Isaac added that he and Pritchard had ‘huge ambitions’ for Smoke Shack, and hoped the campaign would help turn it in to a ‘national, maybe even a global’ operation.
