Restaurant magazine’s latest Eats Out events took place in Victoria’s recently opened Nova development, home to a mix of established brands and one-offs, including Hai Cenato, Aster, and Stoke House.

The tour started with brunch and Bloody Marys at Antipodean-style café Timmy Green. The second stop was Jason Atherton’s casual Italian Hai Cenato - which translates as “have you had dinner?” - where the group sampled pizzas and the restaurant’s bestselling aged beef bolognese with corzetti, sage and burnt butter.

Next up was D&D’s Aster, a Nordic-French restaurant overseen by Finnish chef Helena Puolakka. A genuine smörgåsbord of Scandi dishes included caraway spiced pork belly, blackberry-pickled herring and rare roast beef open sandwiches spiked with horseradish. The final stop on the tour was Stoke House, a modern and high quality take on the carvery from high profile restaurateur Will Ricker, with a spread including slices of beef hewn from a whole rump of beef, and crispy, slow-roasted shortrib.
