Tom Sellers is launching a three-week pop up in April while his Michelin-starred Restaurant Story undergoes a full interior renovation.

The chef will take over a 60-cover Victorian tannery on Tanner Street, down the road from his Bermondsey restaurant.

Banquet-style feasts and guest chef events will be held in the three-storey venue, which launches on 4 April.

Tickets for the restaurant must be pre-booked, and are priced at £60.27 for four courses and a drink.

Sellers will donate a portion of each ticket sold to Hospitality Action, with a larger portion being donated on guest chef evenings.

Named ‘Merry Men’ as a tribute to his Nottingham upbringing, the pop up will draw from the story of the band of outlaws that followed Robin Hood to offer an “immersive dining experience”.

The banquet style menu will features traditionally prepared meats and paired wines selected by Restaurant Story’s head sommelier.

Dishes will include bone marrow, eel and parsley; smoked haddock in milk; braised and hot smoked lamb leg with anchovies and capers; beef cheeks in hay; and lardy cake with salted blackberries and cultured ice cream.

A smaller snack menu, called ‘Pig Tales’, will be available at the 40-cover upstairs bar. Supported by Bombay Sapphire, the woodland themed bar will serve cocktails created by Matt Whiley, the founder of cocktail consultancy Talented Mr Fox.

On Wednesdays, guest chefs will collaborate on a menu with Sellers. The first confirmed guest chef is Jason Atherton, who will be in the kitchen on 18 April.

On the final day of the pop up, Sellers will host the ‘Last Feast’, where all elements of the pop up will be for sale, including crockery, cutlery and glassware. The proceeds will be donated to Hospitality Action.

Restaurant bookings will open in 19 February on ticket website

Sellers holds pop ups and hosts guest chefs at Restaurant Story regularly, and is this week co-hosting two tasting menu dinners at his restaurant alongside Tom Aikens. Last year, the chef teamed up with Michael O’Hare, from Michelin-starred restaurant The Man Behind The Curtain, to co-host a two-day lunch and dinner service at Restaurant Story.

Sellers opened Restaurant Story in London’s Bermondsey in 2012, and the restaurant gained a Michelin star five months later when he was just 26.
